Midwolde is a small and centuries-old village near the city of Groningen. Midwolde is best known for its church, which dates from the 12th century. The church is often open and you can walk in and take a look. Next to Midwolde is the Nienoord estate with a beautiful country house and a large area where you can walk and cycle. Nienoord Family Park is also located here with a swimming pool, a large playground, one of the largest model railways in the Netherlands with a miniature railway network outside that also transports passengers in small trains.
Groningen is nearby, 10 minutes by car. Or public transport will take you directly into the city. Here you will find everything in the field of culture, shopping and culinary. There are several museums, cinemas, a wide variety of restaurants and shops.
You can enjoy beautiful walks and cycling in the area surrounding the house, and there are several excellent cycling routes. Bicycles can be rented if desired.
